Nabe Harlem Underground
NABE, Japanese Hotpot, is an interactive eating experience where broth, vegetables, meat and variety of ingredients are cooked in a ceramic hotpot centered between guests who cook and eat together. NABE, always a unique bonding experience, fostering togetherness and stimulating conversation, along with the rest of the menu, reintroduces Japanese Cuisine as something other than Sushi and Ramen. The owner, upon coming home after living 7 years in Japan, thought it would definitely be something Harlem would appreciate and enjoy.

“The sake The Brussels sprouts The udon with tofu curry. The ginger ice cream They can do no wrong in my eyes or my belly.”
I had an AMAZING lunch yesterday (10/2/15) @ Nabe Harlem. I entertained a huge bowl of Beef Udon with Shrimp Tempura and a DELIGHTFULLY DELICIOUS dessert of 2 scoops of Ginger Ice Cream. It all hit the spot. The insightful convo with the owner and his attentive mother on the story behind Nabe Harlem and Nabe Harlem Underground was an added bonus. Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed my cultural experience. (Sidenote: This aint no fried rice or chicken and broccoli kind of place so get ya passport before you come thru the door lol.) Nabe….I shall be making a round trip!!
